How it works

A bead is the incense.

Traditional Chinese incense is usually burned. We press the same botanicals into beads instead, so the scent lives on your wrist rather than in a room.

Ground

Sandalwood, clove, chrysanthemum, rose, safflower and other botanicals are ground and blended to a recipe.

Cold-pressed

The blend is pressed into beads without heat, so the aromatic oils stay in the bead instead of burning off.

Cellar-aged

Beads rest in a cool cellar for at least a month. The scent settles and deepens before stringing.

Worn

Body warmth releases the scent slowly through the day. Expect three to six months of daily wear; store in the tin to refresh.

From Qixia Mountain

A mountain known for herbs and a thousand-year-old temple.

Qixia Mountain, on the edge of Nanjing, was once called Sheshan — "the nourishing mountain" — for the wild medicinal plants that grow there. Physicians came to gather them; monks built a temple that still stands. Chinese incense-making grew up in exactly this overlap of botany and quiet.

QixiaIncense started with one question: could those layered, botanical scents be worn instead of burned? Our beads are made by a small workshop near the mountain. I'm KanXi, based in Ontario, Canada — I design each blend and colour story; the workshop presses, strings and ships every bracelet with full tracking.

Questions

Good to know.

How strong is the scent?

Close-wearing. You and the person next to you will notice it; a room will not. Warmth brings it up — after a walk or a warm shower it is strongest. It softens over three to six months and can be refreshed by keeping the bracelet in its tin overnight.

Are the beads natural?

Each bead is pressed from ground botanicals with a natural binder. Every listing names the ingredients in that blend. Colour and texture vary slightly from bead to bead because they are plant material, not plastic.

Where do orders ship from, and how long does it take?

From our workshop in Nanjing, China, with tracking. 8–14 business days to the US, Canada, UK and EU (free shipping), 15–30 days elsewhere. Orders are packed within 3–5 business days.

Can I get it wet?

Please don't. Take it off for showers, swimming and washing up, and keep it away from perfume and direct sun. The elastic cord stretches over most wrists (about 16–18 cm).

Is this a medical product?

No. These are scented bracelets — an aroma and a piece of jewellery, nothing more. Not for children under 12.
